Our Maker Lab is now available for patrons to schedule equipment orientation and use appointments. In addition to Cricut machines and supplies, we also have podcasting equipment and several tools for creating digital copies of your floppy disk files, photos, slides, negatives, CDs, DVDs, and VHS tapes.

Maker Lab Guidelines
- The Maker Lab is open to Upper Hudson Library System cardholders in good standing who are 18 years and older. People under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is trained on the equipment.
- Orientation is required for each piece of equipment before it can be used for a project.
- For most equipment, patrons can sign up for one appointment per month, depending on staff and equipment availability. Patrons are allowed only one appointment for the VHS Converter after attending an orientation class, due to the time investment involved.
- There are limits to the types of items users are allowed to create. View the full policy for details.
- Before using the equipment without supervision, patrons must review the policy above and sign an agreement.
- Users who do not follow the library’s Code of Conduct may lose Maker Lab privileges.
- Some consumable materials (DVDs, flash drives, Cricut supplies, etc.) for maker projects are available to purchase at cost from the library. If you are bringing Cricut supplies, they must be approved by staff.
