Add Partner Libraries to Libby
- Open the Libby app and tap the hamburger icon (three lines) in the bottom menu.
- Tap Add Library and search for one of the partner library systems above.
- Tap Sign in With My Card.
- Under Partner Libraries, select Upper Hudson Library System and sign in.
- Expand your access to digital materials by using our partner libraries. Once activated, you can toggle back and forth between libraries to find what you’re looking for.
- Tap Add Library and add the Mid-Hudson Library System, Mohawk Valley Library System, and Southern Adirondack Library System
*Please note that patrons are not able to place holds on items at partner libraries.
Did you know that all residents of NY State are entitled to cards at New York Public Library, Queens Public Library, and Brooklyn Public Library? If you’re interested in getting library cards at any of these libraries to use their digital collections, see the “Bonus Libraries” section of this Tech Tips post.

Borrow eBooks, audiobooks, comics, music, TV episodes, and movies.
To use Hoopla, download the Hoopla app (mobile device)/channel (streaming device or smart TV) or go to www.hoopladigital.com and click “Get Started.” Create an account login using the barcode number on the back of your library card and start borrowing!

Limits
Hoopla eBooks do not work with e-ink e-readers (Kindle Paperwhite).
Each patron gets three (3) checkouts per calendar month.
Comics Plus
Access thousands of digital comics, graphic novels, and manga for kids, teens, and adults.
Access titles using a smartphone, tablet, or web browser, and they can be downloaded to multiple devices. There is never a wait to read – all titles are unlimited access simultaneous use.

Read popular magazines online with America’s News Magazines. Includes The Atlantic, Field and Stream, Harvard Health, National Review, Newsweek, Parenting, Popular Science, Slate, Smithsonian, and more. This help video was created for accessing the Times Union online, but works for all NewsBank products.
Remote access is provided for patrons with Colonie resident cards. All devices on the library’s network have automatic access.
